Project: SanRex Amplifier with SiC MOSFET

Our global society is constantly looking for greener and more sustainable options in the quest of establishing a more environment-friendly world for all of us. The invention of our SiC MOSFET family has brought us again one step closer to a society that relies more heavily on long-lasting technological innovations.

 

The advantages of the SanRex-produced SiC MOSFET were brought forth in an amplifier project where the sound quality was able to be made extremely coherent and stable. In this amplifier, our 50A, 1200 V SiC MOSFET in TO-247 package (under development) was used among other completely SanRex-made products. The SiC MOSFET works as the inverter of the amplifier, as it also enables the machine to work in frequencies of 400-500 kHz. The capability of operating smoothly even at high frequencies makes the sound quality top-notch in both clearness and steadiness. The SanRex-produced driver and its power supply are used to optimize the SiC MOSFET to operate in its fullest potential.

 

The amplifier also includes three different electric circuit diagrams in the form of a flyback circuit, a forward converter and an LLC converter. On the power semicon ductor side, besides the SiC MOSFET discrete, input diode DF30NA160 and thyristor SMG50A160M are also used.
